Heather qualified as a Teacher of Business and ICT in 1988 and has taught Mathematics, ICT and Business in secondary schools across the UK for over 30 years. She has a BA in Business and a BSc in Mathematics, as well as a master’s degree in Education and wrote a dissertation on the effect of online courses on literacy and numeracy skills. The verdict was that there is no substitute for a teacher! Heather loves working one to one with students who need additional support with Maths and her aim is to find a way of helping students understand Maths in a non-pressurised environment. She is extremely patient and will happily work for hours with someone until they understand a concept. She also believes that repetition is the key. She likes to think of ways to help students memorise concepts to make learning and revision easier. Heather works as an examiner for four different exam boards and uses this knowledge to help students understand how examiners mark exam papers. She also writes quantitative skills mock exam papers for a publishing company at GCSE standard. Heather will teach KS3 and GCSE Maths.
