Penny studied German and French at Cambridge University and qualified to teach at York University. She has taught across the age range, from 9 - 13 Middle Schools through secondary to sixth form and university. She taught in a Sixth Form College for seven years and all her recent teaching has been A Level and university work. Penny is also a CPD presenter and German A Level examiner for WJEC Eduqas: she is Team Leader for the Speaking component, conducting and marking speaking exams and supervising assistant examiners; she also marks the essay component. Penny has also marked GCSE examinations, including the new Speaking examination. She is therefore very familiar with the skills students need to be successful in examinations and feels that she could be particularly helpful to students in years 10 - 13 who are concerned about falling behind because of Covid. She can tutor remotely when and where necessary. She is currently teaching an MA student in Sheffield who needs German for his Phd on Mozart, using Zoom..
