About West Lancs Tutors

My name is David and I am the founder and manager of West Lancs Tutors. I set up the agency in August 2015 to provide parents and students in my local area with a professional and personal tutoring service.

I am an experienced primary school teacher currently teaching KS2 and I tutor in my spare time. I firmly believe that students thrive with a friendly and personalised learning experience.

We are not a franchise. I set up this agency with the aim of offering children of all ages the very best opportunity to achieve their full potential.

What we can offer:
  • You will be dealing with a qualified teacher from the very start.
  • You will be getting excellent value.
  • Your tutor will be a fully qualified teacher
  • Your tutor will be qualified to a high level in your subject area.
  • Your tutor will be DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) cleared and have proven reliabity, professionalism and friendliness.
  • You will not be tied in to any contracts
  • You will not have to 'pay upfront' as with other agencies.
  • My organisation will tutor in line with current and evolving teaching practice to ensure optimum results.

A little About Me!

  • After finishing 6th form college, I went on to Keele University to study Business and Human Resource Management in which I obtained a 2:1 BA Double Honours.

  • After graduating, I worked briefly as a Personal Account Manager for Lloyds TSB before obtaining a place on the Marks and Spencer Graduate Scheme.

  • After volunteering in a local primary school during my holidays, I decided to pursue a career in teaching.

  • I obtained a place on the Graduate Teacher Programme and qualified with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

  • I was successful in obtaining a primary school teaching post and am currently the school's Maths Subject Leader, PE Subject Leader and Children's University Co-ordinator as well as being a part of the Senior Management Team.

  • I decided to combine my love of teaching and business and start West Lancs Tutors!
